Heat-mediated antigen retrieval is recommended prior to staining, using a 1mM EDTA buffer, pH 8.0, for 10 minutes followed by cooling at room temperature for 20 min. Following antigen retrieval, incubate samples with primary antibody for 30 min at room temperature. A suggested positive control is tonsil tissue.
The CD2 antigen (LFA-2) is a monomeric 45 to 58kDa glycoprotein. It is an accessory molecule important in mediating the adhesion of activated T cells and thymocytes with antigen-presenting cells and target cells. This antibody reacts with the majority of T cells in peripheral lymphoid tissue, NK cells, cortical thymocytes and most malignant cells of T cell origin.
