This antibody binds to both dynorphin A 1-17 and 1-8 but not with other big dynorphin cleavage products such as dynorphin B, also known as rimorphin.
This product requires protein digestion pre-treatment of paraffin sections using trypsin or pronase. Overnight incubation with primary antibody is recommended.
The immunogen used to produce PA1-84557 is from Dynorphin A 1-17: Tyr-Gly-Gly-Phe-Leu-Arg-Arg-Ile-Arg-Pro-Lys-Leu-Lys-Trp-Asp-Asn-Gln (porcine).
Rabbit anti Human dynorphin A antibody recognizes the opioid peptide dynorphin A (Fischli et al. 1982), a cleavage product of big dynorphin, itself derived from the precursor pro-encephalin-B, also known as preprodynorphin.
The protein encoded by this gene is a preproprotein that is proteolytically processed to form the secreted opioid peptides beta-neoendorphin, dynorphin, leu-enkephalin, rimorphin, and leumorphin. These peptides are ligands for the kappa-type of opioid receptor. Dynorphin is involved in modulating responses to several psychoactive substances, including cocaine.
