FIGURE: 1 / 1
This antibody reacts very strongly with rat alpha and delta isoforms, and weakly with the human beta and rabbit gamma isoforms. This antibody is predicted to react with porcine, rabbit, chicken and xenopus samples based on sequence homology.
PPP2R2A (Protein Phosphatase 2 Regulatory Subunit Balpha) is a Protein Coding gene. Diseases associated with PPP2R2A include Lung Cancer and Hepatocellular Carcinoma. Among its related pathways are "Cell Cycle, Mitotic" and p70S6K Signaling. Gene Ontology (GO) annotations related to this gene include protein serine/threonine phosphatase activity and protein phosphatase regulator activity. An important paralog of this gene is PPP2R2D. The B regulatory subunit might modulate substrate selectivity and catalytic activity, and also might direct the localization of the catalytic enzyme to a particular subcellular compartment. Essential for serine/threonine-protein phosphatase 2A-mediated dephosphorylation of WEE1, preventing its ubiquitin-mediated proteolysis, increasing WEE1 protein levels, and promoting the G2/M checkpoint. The product of this gene belongs to the phosphatase 2 regulatory subunit B family. Protein phosphatase 2 is one of the four major Ser/Thr phosphatases, and it is implicated in the negative control of cell growth and division. It consists of a common heteromeric core enzyme, which is composed of a catalytic subunit and a constant regulatory subunit, that associates with a variety of regulatory subunits. The B regulatory subunit might modulate substrate selectivity and catalytic activity. This gene encodes an alpha isoform of the regulatory subunit B55 subfamily. Alternatively spliced transcript variants have been described.
