SLC27A4 Antibody in Immunohistochemistry (Paraffin) (IHC (P)) — Immunohistochemistry analysis of SLC27A4 in paraffin-embedded mouse small intestine tissue. The section was pre-treated using heat mediated antigen retrieval with Tris-EDTA buffer (pH 8.0-8.4) for 20 minutes. The tissues were blocked in 5% BSA for 30 minutes at room temperature, washed with ddH2O and PBS, and then probed with SLC27A4 Monoclonal antibody (Product # MA5-44919) using a dilution of 1:200 for 30 minutes at room temperature. The detection was performed using an HRP conjugated compact polymer system. DAB was used as the chromogen. Tissues were counterstained with hematoxylin and mounted with DPX.

SLC27A4 Antibody in Western Blot (WB) — Western blot analysis of SLC27A4 in mouse pancreas tissue lysates. Proteins were transferred to a PVDF membrane and blocked with 5% BSA in PBS for 1 hour at room temperature. Samples were incubated in SLC27A4 Monoclonal antibody (Product # MA5-44919) using a dilution of 1:500 in 5% BSA at room temperature for 2 hours followed by Goat Anti-Rabbit IgG - HRP secondary antibody at a dilution of 1:5,000 for 1 hour at room temperature.

SLC27A4 Antibody in Flow Cytometry (Flow) — Flow cytometry of SLC27A4 in A549 cells. The cells were fixed, permeabilized and stained with SLC27A4 Monoclonal antibody (Product # MA5-44919) using a dilution of 1:50 (red) at room temperature for an hour followed by Alexa Fluor®488 conjugate-Goat anti-Rabbit IgG secondary antibody at a dilution of 1:1,000 for 30 minutes. Unlabeled sample was used as a control (cells without incubation with primary antibody; black).

Target Information

This gene encodes a member of a family of fatty acid transport proteins, which are involved in translocation of long-chain fatty acids cross the plasma membrane. This protein is expressed at high levels on the apical side of mature enterocytes in the small intestine, and appears to be the principal fatty acid transporter in enterocytes. Clinical studies suggest this gene as a candidate gene for the insulin resistance syndrome. Mutations in this gene have been associated with ichthyosis prematurity syndrome.
