Western blot analysis of SLU7 using A) 30 µg 293T whole cell lysate (B) 30 µg A431 whole cell lysate (C) 30 µg HeLa whole cell lysate and D) 30 µg HepG2 whole cell lysate. Samples were loaded onto a 7.5% SDS-PAGE gel and probed with a SLU7 monoclonal antibody (Product # MA5-18296) at a dilution of 1:2000.

Participates in the second catalytic step of pre-mRNA splicing, when the free hydroxyl group of exon I attacks the 3'-splice site to generate spliced mRNA and the excised lariat intron. Required for holding exon 1 properly in the spliceosome and for correct AG identification when more than one possible AG exists in 3'-splicing site region.
