While transmission electron microscopy software enables efficient data collection, it doesn’t always address the specific requirements of customized or repetitive workflows. That’s where Thermo Scientific AutoScript Software provides a powerful advantage. With direct access to microscope controls and a Python-based API, AutoScript Software allows you to build tailored scripts to automate routine tasks and streamline your TEM workflows.
In this webinar, we will demonstrate how AutoScript Software can help you move from manual operation to smart automation. Through a practical, step-by-step example, you’ll see how to acquire low-magnification images, navigate the stage, apply AI-based image processing, and integrate key functions such as autofocus and magnification changes.
Whether you're new to scripting or looking to expand your existing capabilities, this session will help you take the next step toward more efficient, reproducible TEM experiments.
In this webinar, you will:
Discover how to practically use AI to create scripts
See a real example of how automation can help optimize your workflows
Arno has more than 15 years of experience in TEM in industrial and academic surroundings. He obtained his PhD at the Technical University of Graz where he focused on analytical techniques such as EDS and EELS. After that he moved to Sweden where he continued this focus working for several years as senior TEM scientist in industry. Thereafter he worked for six years as senior applications specialist in Thermo Fisher’s Eindhoven NanoPort Facility.
Carman graduated from Hong Kong University of Science and Technology with a degree in chemistry. She completed her PhD at the Max Planck Institute in Goettingen doing proof-of-concept work using a CEOS spherical aberration and off-axial coma corrector in combination with a single Wien filter type monochromator to image beam-sensitive life sciences samples in cryogenic conditions. She currently works on materials science TEM applications, focusing on TEM experiment workflow customization and automation.
