Eric Van Cappellen, PhD

Eric Van Cappellen obtained his PhD in Solid State Physics in 1986 at the University of Antwerp, Belgium. Both his master’s degree and doctorate were in the field of Transmission Electron Microscopy. After several academic positions in Belgium, Congo, Germany and France, he joined Philips Electron Optics (PEO) in 1993. In 1997 PEO became FEI Company which was then acquired by Thermo Fisher Scientific in 2016. Eric has many years of experience in advanced TEM technologies and he collaborates with universities and institutes worldwide for the advancement of TEM techniques and applications.
