Nickel(II) octanoate, in mineral spirits (8% Ni)

Nickel(II) octanoate is used to prepare nickel based catalysts using niobia modified silica as support. It is also used as a catalyst and involved in the treatment of qaiyarah heavy crude oil, petrolene using ethanol as a solvent and reductant.
