Employed as adsorbents, functional fluids (closed systems) and intermediates. Used as an operating medium for air-conditioning and industrial drying system. It is also used in manufacturing pharmaceuticals and alkylation process. It is used as brazing and welding fluxes. Used for reconstitution of brines, as swelling agent for proteins, as electrolyte component in lithium batteries.
