Recycling Information: Nalgene reusable labware products are designed to last many years under typical laboratory conditions. Yet, as with all durable products, they need to be retired and replaced eventually. Thermo Fisher Scientific encourages recycling Nalgene polypropylene labware at end of product life in communities where polypropylene can be recycled.

Nalgene beakers and graduated cylinders are delivered in corrugate cartons made from 100% post-consumer recycled material. Packaging bags are made from LDPE and are readily recyclable once the label is removed. Please continue the cycle and recycle your cartons and bags.

Frequently asked questions (FAQs)

Several of your labware products are available in polypropylene (PP, PPCO) or polymethylpentene (PMP). Which should I choose?

These two materials were chosen as labware raw materials for their durability, broad chemical compatibility profile, and wide range of use temperature. Polymethylpentene offers a higher level of transparency (comparable to glass) but is slightly more brittle and therefore somewhat more likely than polypropylene to crack if dropped. Chemical or environmental factors in some applications may strongly indicate the use of only one material- please refer to laboratory plastics reference materials or call Thermo Scientific Laboratory Products Essentials technical support for assistance.
