This antibody reacts specifically with c-Kit protein. In normal tissues, the c-Kit protein is expressed in mast cells, interstitial cells of Cajal, melanocytes, and breast epithelial cells. Autocrine and paracrine stimulation of the c-Kit signaling pathway has been implicated in human tumors such as small cell and non-small cell lung cancer, acute myeloblastic leukemia, germ cell tumors, breast cance, and gastrointestinal stromal tumors (GIST). Positive tissue: GIST or selected breast cancer.
