Can I re-use empty amino acid cartridges, or use those from other vendors on the 433A peptide synthesizer?

The re-use of amino acid cartridges is not recommended. The use of cartridges, packed or empty, from other vendors, is not advisable. Their septa may shred upon needle penetration.  This can damage the needle assembly, and may also cause synthesis failures. Applied Biosystems sells a line of empty cartridges, both with and without barcode label, with the needed caps and septa. Or you may elect to purchase P/N 200154, described as" CAP,13mm, TFE lined with aluminum crimp cap". These are sold separately. The purchase of a 10-pack, with both cartridges and caps, is more cost-effective.
