This separately-available MicroSEQ™ ID 16S rDNA 500 Library v2013 is used to update older versions of the library co-installed with MicroSEQ™ ID Microbial Identification Software . Purchase of this library is not required when purchasing the software, as the most recent library is included with most software purchases. The library contains 2100 reference 16S rRNA sequences from bacteria against which an unknown bacterial sequence can be compared using MicroSEQ™ ID analysis software in order to identify the unknown organism. The entries contain the first 500 bases of the 16S rRNA gene, and the library is regularly updated with new entries and current taxonomy. The first 500 bases are generally sufficient to identify bacterial unknowns.
