Plates with 6-, 12-, 24-, 48-, 96- or 384-wells can be measured as long as the plates adhere to Society for Biomolecular Screening (SBS) specification standards.
A maximum of six filters can be installed into the filter wheel positions 1-6.
The light shield should be used with 96- and 384-well plates. Note: If the plates are higher than 15 mm, the light shield must be removed.
For luminometric measurements, white plates are generally used. White plates enhance the signal and avoid possible crosstalk from high signals in neighboring wells.
For low-profile 384-well plates (plate height less than 13.5 mm), an adapter must be used to raise the plate. The adapter for low-profile 384-well plates is needed when you dispense into and/or measure low-profile 384-well plates.
Unfortunately, the Luminoskan Microplate Luminometer is a dedicated luminometer. It does not have a fluorometric option.
Yes, it can. Follow the instructions for changing the measurement direction in the user manual: https://assets.thermofisher.com/TFS-Assets/BID/manuals/luminoskan-fluoroskan-fl-user-manual.pdf
Yes, these readers can accommodate up to 3 injectors.
Yes, Luminoskan Microplate Luminometer and Fluoroskan FL Microplate Fluorometer and Luminometer can read any type of luminescence assay. Some will require filters.
If your reader's serial number begins with 374-9 followed by more digits/letters, then you can order an upgrade kit that includes a USB converter kit and SkanIt Software (Cat. No. N17646). If the serial number is 374- followed immediately by any number other than 9, then you must retain an older Windows 7, 32-bit for PC and continue using Ascent 2.6 software, as your reader's firmware is not compatible with SkanIt Software.
