Axiom miRNA Target Site Genotyping Arrays are the only tools that offer comprehensive genomic evaluation of miRNA target site variants and can be easily customized to include other relevant panels for disease association studies. More than 80 percent of the content on the arrays is not available on other widely used genotyping arrays, making them ideal for supplementing GWAS or gene regulation studies.

Comprehensive coverage of the miRNA gene regulation cascade with novel content
• All known and several predicted SNPs and indels in miRNA promoters, miRNA seed sites, mRNA target binding sites, and miRNA processing proteins
• Over 80% of the array content is not found on other genotyping arrays, making it ideal for supplementing GWAS or gene regulation studies

Relevant markers
• miRNAs are derived from the non-coding region of the genome, which has recently been announced by the Encyclopedia of DNA Elements (ENCODE) Consortium to contain important regulatory elements with functional importance
• Variants on the array include markers with known associations to diseases including cancer, cardiovascular disease, and type 2 diabetes

Complementary content
• Gene regulation studies – complement miRNA genotyping data with Affymetrix' suite of miRNA analysis products, including GeneChip miRNA 3.0 Array, QuantiGene 2.0 miRNA Assay or QuantiGene ViewRNA in situ Hybridization (ISH) Cell Assay
• Disease association studies – array content can stand-alone or complement content on Axiom Exome 319 Array or the gene expression GeneChip™; Human Genome U133 Plus 2.0 Array

Customizable
• Include an additional 170,000 SNPs from your own candidate genes to meet your research needs. Choose from the Axiom Genomic Database of nine million genotype-tested markers, or include variants of your own choosing

Fully automated
• Fast array processing significantly reduces hands-on time, saves money, and reduces errors

Axiom mRNA Target Site Genotyping Arrays include:
• Axiom 2.0 Reagent Kit for automated or manual processing of up to 96 samples per array plate
• A fully automated workflow with validated robotics methods for target preparation and array processing based on the Beckman Biomek™ FXP Target Prep Express System and the GeneTitan™ MC Instrument
• A manual target preparation protocol for lower-throughput users
Axiom Analysis Suite for automated allele calling and easier quality assessment of called genotypes.

Frequently asked questions (FAQs)

Is the hybridization mix for cartridges the same as the hybridization mix for PEG arrays (array plates)?

The hybridization mix for PEG arrays is different from the hybridization mix for cartridges. The concentrations of the hybridization mix are different and in addition, DMSO is not added into the hybridization mix for PEG arrays because it can affect the glue that holds the PEG to the plate.

What is the starting amount of DNA required for Axiom arrays?

All Axiom arrays (except for Axiom Genome-Wide Pan-African Array Set) require a total of 200 ng DNA. The Axiom Genome-Wide Pan-African Array Set requires a total of 300 ng DNA, or 100 ng DNA per array (there are 3 arrays).
