Sodium n-octyl sulfate is a useful chemical to study the selective enrichment of albumin in biological samples and to determine the mixed solution of a glycerin-modified cationic surfactant and an anionic surfactant. It is also used as wetting agent, detergent, dispersant, emulsifier, degreasing agent, hard surface cleaner, lime soap dispersant, alkaline detergent, cleaning agent for metal processing in electroplating, latex, metal processing, paper, polymer synthesis, textile, leather and other industries. It finds application as an anionic detergent and ion -pairing reagent used in high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC).

This Thermo Scientific Chemicals brand product was originally part of the Alfa Aesar product portfolio. Some documentation and label information may refer to the legacy brand. The original Alfa Aesar product / item code or SKU reference has not changed as a part of the brand transition to Thermo Scientific Chemicals.
