Description

n-Butyl methacrylate is used as a building block of polymer based products that are used in paints and coatings, resins, adhesives, toners and inks, oil additives for dental and medical products. Its polymer polybutyl methacrylate (PBMA) with the sodium salt of partially carboxymethylated guar gum (Na-PCMGG, DS = 0.497) is synthesized using ceric ammonium nitrate as a redox initiator.

Solubility
Miscible with ethyl ether and ethanol. Immiscible with water.
