Malondialdehyde (MDA) Colorimetric Assay Kit

The Malondialdehyde (MDA) Colorimetric Assay Kit is a highly reliable and sensitive assay designed for the quantitative measurement of MDA in serum, plasma, tissue, and other samples. MDA is a biomarker of oxidative stress and lipid peroxidation, and detection of MDA in samples can indirectly reflect the level of cellular damage from oxygen free radicals.

In this assay MDA, as the catabolite of lipid peroxide, reacts with thiobarbituric acid (TBA) to produce a red compound. This compound has a maximum absorption peak at 532 nm, which can be used to measure the amount of malondialdehyde present.
