The ProcartaPlex Human Beta Endorphin Competitive Simplex Kit measures Beta Endorphin protein and is based on competitive ELISA technique, where sample Testosterone competes with a labeled tracer for antibody binding, resulting in an inverse signal proportional to cortisol concentration.
This kit can be used for single-target quantification or combined with other simplex assays to create a panel. ProcartaPlex Competitive Simplex kits are compatible with each other and can also be combined with sandwich assays. Please use the Panel Configurator to verify the compatibility of your desired panel.
A ProcartaPlex Basic Kit (sold separately) is required to run the assay, as Simplex kits include only assay-specific components and do not contain any buffer or plate.
About ProcartaPlex Assays for the Luminex Platform
ProcartaPlex assays are bead-based immunoassays designed for multiplex protein analysis on Luminex™ xMAP instruments. They enable the simultaneous detection and quantification of multiple protein targets from a single, small-volume sample, helping researchers save time, sample, and cost compared to traditional single-analyte ELISAs.
Depending on the analyte, ProcartaPlex assays are based on either sandwich ELISA or competitive immunoassay principles.
How the technology works
ProcartaPlex assays use Luminex xMAP technology, in which microscopic magnetic beads are internally dyed with precise ratios of red and infrared fluorophores. Each bead population has a unique spectral signature and is coated with antibodies specific to a single target. This allows different analytes to be measured in parallel within the same well.
Unlike traditional ELISA, where antibodies are immobilized on a plate, ProcartaPlex reagents are free-floating in solution, improving reaction kinetics and enabling efficient multiplexing with the following benefits:
ProcartaPlex multiplex panels and simplex assays are available for six (species: human, mouse, rat, nonhuman primate, porcine, and canine).
