Abstract
Human mitochondrial RNA decay mediated by PNPase-hSuv3 complex takes place in distinct foci.
Authors:Borowski LS, Dziembowski A, Hejnowicz MS, Stepien PP, Szczesny RJ,
Journal:Nucleic Acids Res
PubMed ID:23221631
RNA decay is usually mediated by protein complexes and can occur in specific foci such as P-bodies in the cytoplasm of eukaryotes. In human mitochondria nothing is known about the spatial organization of the RNA decay machinery, and the ribonuclease responsible for RNA degradation has not been identified. We demonstrate ... More
Simple, rapid zebrafish larva bioassay for assessing the potential of chemical pollutants and drugs to disrupt thyroid gland function.

Journal:Environ Sci Technol
PubMed ID:19764258
Thyroid function may be altered by a very large number of chemicals routinely found in the environment Research evaluating potential thyroid disruption is ongoing, but there are thousands of synthetic and naturally occurring drugs and chemicals to be considered. European and United States policies call for the development of simple ... More
Fluorescent coherent diffractive imaging with accelerating light sheets.

Journal:Opt Express
PubMed ID:31052833
'Fluorescence microscopy is a powerful method for producing high fidelity images with high spatial resolution, particularly in the biological sciences. We recently introduced coherent holographic image reconstruction by phase transfer (CHIRPT), a single-pixel imaging method that significantly improves the depth of field in fluorescence microscopy and enables holographic refocusing of ... More

Journal:Conf Proc IEEE Eng Med Biol Soc
PubMed ID:30440519
Several research groups have developed head-mounted fluorescence microscopes as a modality for recording neural activity in freely behaving mice. The current designs have shown exciting results from in vivo imaging of the bright dynamics of genetically encoded calcium indicators (GECI). However, despite their potential, head-mounted microscopes are not in use ... More
