Dionex ICS-6000 Single Channel Gradient Standard Bore IC System - FAQs

We provide comprehensive support. Our specialists act as trusted advisors and share industry expertise. They understand that purchasing an IC instrument is also purchasing a relationship, and they strive to provide the level of service and support that laboratories need.

We offer a full range of validation services and kits for the Dionex ICS-6000 product line, including Installation Qualification (IQ) and Operational Qualification (OQ) procedures. All validation kits include detailed procedures, calibration tools, data worksheets, methods, and validation certificates.

The Dionex ICS-6000 HPIC system offers the most comprehensive suite of sample preparation features along with the ability to combine them into a single workflow. The system can perform filtration, dilution, matrix elimination, and pre-concentration when paired with our portfolio of autosamplers, in-line and offline cartridges, electrolytic water purifiers (EWPs), and trap and concentrator columns.

The system is ideal for 2D-IC analysis, which is particularly important when performing trace analysis in the presence of high concentrations of interfering matrix ions. This technique achieves improved selectivity and signal enhancement without complicated automated sample preparation.

The system enables direct detection of simple to complex carbohydrates using electrochemical analysis without sample derivatization (HPAE-PAD). The Dionex ICS-6000 HPIC system offers the widest variety of elution techniques for carbohydrate analysis, including proportioned gradients and dual eluent generation. Using Dual EGC mode, the Dionex ICS-6000 HPIC system can also generate potassium hydroxide/potassium methanesulfonate (KOH/KMSA) eluents for simple to complex carbohydrate analysis by adding just deionized water.

• Suppressed and non-suppressed conductivity
• Electrochemical (DC amperometry and integrated pulsed amperometry)
• UV-Vis absorbance (variable wavelength and photodiode array)
• Inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry (ICP-MS)
• Mass spectrometry (MS)

Yes. The system is compatible with single-quadrupole, triple-quadrupole, and high-resolution accurate-mass (HRAM) mass spectrometry, including Thermo Scientific Orbitrap mass spectrometers, for performing powerful ion chromatography-mass spectrometry (IC-MS) analyses.

Yes, the system can be easily converted to a dual-channel system, allowing you to run two different analyses simultaneously on a single sample or analyze two different samples concurrently without taking up additional bench space as it can share one autosampler for both channels.

• Microbore (1–3 mm column i.d.)

• Standard bore (3–7 mm column i.d.)

The system uses the Thermo Scientific Chromeleon Chromatography Data System (CDS), which unifies and simplifies system control, operation, data processing and collection, and reporting.

By increasing pressure tolerance up to 6000 psi, smaller particle size columns such as 4 µm particle-size columns can be used to achieve shorter run times. This allows the system to provide increased throughput and productivity without sacrificing resolution or data quality. Automated eluent generation provides time savings by eliminating human errors associated with manual eluent preparation.

HPIC stands for high-pressure ion chromatography. This capability enables the use of smaller-particle-size 4 µm columns, which provide faster flow rates without sacrificing resolution. HPIC results in shorter run times and increased laboratory throughput while maintaining data quality.
