L-Noradrenaline serves as an adrenergic neurotransmitter. It acts as demethylated precursor of epinephrine (adrenaline). It is also used to treat people having low blood pressure, as a sympathomimetic drug to treat people in vasodilatory shock states such as septic shock and neurogenic shock. Further, it is used in the preparation of1,2,3,4-tetrahydro-4,6,7-isoquinolinetriol hydrochloride. In addition to this, it is used in the treatment of hypotension, depression, schizophrenia and attention hyperactivity disorders.
