Description: The hPer6 antibody was generated against a recombinant protein fragment of human TLR6. To date, at least twelve members of the Toll Like Receptor family have been identified in human. This family of type I transmembrane proteins is characterized by an extracellular domain with leucine-rich repeats and a cytoplasmic domain with homology to the type I IL-1 receptor. TLR6 is reported to be expressed in spleen, thymus, ovary and lung and to associate with TLR2.
Applications Reported: This hPer6 antibody has been reported for use in flow cytometric analysis.
Applications Tested: This hPer6 antibody has been tested by flow cytometric analysis of human MEG-01 cells. This can be used at less than or equal to 0.5 µg per test. A test is defined as the amount (µg) of antibody that will stain a cell sample in a final volume of 100 µL. Cell number should be determined empirically but can range from 10^5 to 10^8 cells/test. It is recommended that the antibody be carefully titrated for optimal performance in the assay of interest.
Filtration: 0.2 µm post-manufacturing filtered.
TLR6 (Toll-like receptor 6) is a member of the toll-like receptor family which plays a fundamental role in pathogen recognition and activation of innate immunity. TLRs are highly conserved and share structural and functional similarities. TLRs recognize pathogen-associated molecular patterns (PAMPs) that are expressed on infectious agents and mediate the production of cytokines necessary for the development of effective immunity. The various TLRs exhibit different patterns of expression. TLR6 functionally interacts with TLR2 to mediate cellular response to bacterial lipoproteins.
