How AI helps with Image Data Analysis in Life Sciences

On-demand webinar

Duration: 42 minutes

The life sciences research field is increasingly dependent on AI and image processing, yet researchers often face challenges such as noisy data, manual annotation, and complex visualization. This webinar will demonstrate how Thermo Scientific Amira Software provides a comprehensive range of AI-driven and conventional tools to tackle these issues.

Key learnings:

  • Understand advanced denoising techniques including Noise to Clean AI and Noise to Void AI.
  • Learn how AI-assisted annotation tools can enhance data accuracy and reliability.
  • Explore optimal segmentation workflows for 2D, 2.5D, and full 3D imaging.
  • Discover how Amira Software can improve reproducibility and precision in your research.

About the speakers

Dr. Maximillian Voll, Product Marketing Manager, Thermo Fisher Scientific

Maximilian holds a PhD in Life Sciences with a specialization in microscopy and image processing. With several years of experience in the microscopy industry, he is currently responsible for the strategic management of Amira Software at Thermo Fisher Scientific.

Dr. Rosa Pipitone, Marketing Content Specialist, Thermo Fisher Scientific

Rosa holds a master’s degree in biotechnology and a PhD in plant biology from the University of Neuchatel and ETH Zurich. With extensive experience in life sciences research, she is now a content marketing specialist at Thermo Fisher Scientific, supporting Thermo Scientific Amira-Avizo Software.

Jessica Heebner, PhD, Applications Scientist, Thermo Fisher Scientific

Jessica completed her undergraduate degree in biology at the University of Alabama. She then worked as a veterinary oncology nurse for almost a decade before going back to school to complete her PhD in biomedical science at Penn State University. There, she researched cytoskeletal rearrangement in developing neurons using cryo-EM and helped pioneer workflows for using deep learning to perform high-throughput image analysis and segmentation of microscopy data.

Dr. Jussi-Petteri Suuronen, PhD, Senior Scientist, XPLORAYTION GmbH

Jussi-Petteri is a X-ray physicist specializing in micro- and nano-tomography imaging. As a Senior Scientist at Xploraytion GmbH, he plays a key role in carrying out synchrotron experiments. He also leads the development of machine learning techniques for segmenting and analyzing complex CT datasets.
