PSC Cryopreservation Kit (Gibco™)

The PSC Cryopreservation Kit contains xeno-free PSC Cryopreservation Medium, which is a ready-to-use solution for the cryopreservation of early passage pluripotent stem cells (PSCs), and RevitaCell™ Supplement (100X), a chemically defined recovery supplement for use in the post-thaw culture media. When used in combination, these reagents help minimize loss of cell viability, maximize post-thaw recovery, and minimize unwanted differentiation of pluripotent stem cells. This kit can also be used to cryopreserve and recover peripheral blood mononuclear cells (PBMCs) to improve post-thaw cell viability and recovery.

Classic formulation optimized for better performance
For many years, researchers have used a common recipe for making freezing medium: High-glucose Dulbecco's Modified Eagle Medium (DMEM) supplemented with 10% serum and 10% DMSO. Recovery™ Cell Culture Freezing Medium is an optimized version of this classic formulation, using high-quality Gibco® Bovine Serum and Fetal Bovine Serum to provide improved cell recovery and viability after thawing.

Suitability for a wide variety of mammalian cells
Recovery™ Cell Culture Freezing Medium can be used to freeze most mammalian cells cultured in DMEM, DMEM/F-12, MEM, RPMI 1640, and Ham's F-12, including CHO-S, CHO-K1, HEK 293, Jurkat, and NIH 3T3 cells.

Quality and performance tested
Recovery™ Cell Culture Freezing Medium is quality tested for pH, osmolality, sterility, and endotoxin. In addition, each lot is performance tested using CHO-K1 cells.

Synth-a-Freeze™ Cryopreservation Medium (Gibco™)

Synth-a-Freeze® is a defined, liquid cryopreservation medium containing 10% dimethylsulfoxide (DMSO) without antibiotics, antimycotics, hormones, growthfactors, serum or protein and buffered with HEPES and sodium bicarbonate. Synth-a-Freeze is intended for freezing and storing a variety of mammalian cell types including human keratinocytes, embryonic stem cells, neural stem cells and mesenchymal stem cells. It should not be used for melanocytes.

CTS™ Synth-a-Freeze™ Medium (Gibco™)

CTS™ (Cell Therapy Systems) Synth-a-Freeze® medium is a chemically defined, protein-free liquid cryopreservation medium intended for freezing and storing a variety of mammalian cell types including stem cells. Synth-a-Freeze® CTS™ media is optimally formulated without antibiotics, antimycotics, hormones, growth factors, serum, or protein and buffered with HEPES and sodium bicarbonate.

Cryopreserve a Variety of Cell Types
Cell Therapy Systems Synth-a-Freeze® CTS™ media performs comparable to our standard, serum-containing cryopreservation medium for cryopreserving a variety of cell types including human Embryonic Stem Cells, Neural Stem Cells (Ref 1), Mesenchymal Stem Cells and Keratinocytes (Ref 2). We do not recommend using Synth-a-Freeze® media for cryopreservation of human epidermal melanocytes.

Simple Incorporation into Your Current Freezing Protocol
Synth-a-Freeze® CTS™ media can be used with any standard freezing protocol. Just add thawed Cell Therapy Systems Synth-a-Freeze® CTS™ media to detached and pelleted cells, aliquot, and freeze. For optimal results, the use of a controlled-rate freezer is recommended.
