Tuesday, 20 August | 13:00 - 14:00 CDT | Marquette Room

Part 1: Neoma (MS/MS) MC-ICP-MS Cookbook

Thermo Scientific Neoma MC-ICP-MS delivers technology that allows extracting information from even the smallest samples with high sensitivity, low noise, and flexibility to switch between multiple applications. It is our mission to deliver best user experience and maximize utilization of your instrument by sharing our analytical experience with the MC-ICP-MS community, but also to host the platform for you to share best practice with your peers.

With this in mind we have launched the Neoma (MS/MS) MC-ICP-MS Cookbook, a guide to optimized instrument setup for a variety of applications. Join us to get a preview of recipes for analysis of e.g., Hafnium, Potassium, Iron, Rb/Sr, and discuss with us next steps for creating a comprehensive compilation of MC-ICP-MS applications.

Speaker: Dr. Nicholas Lloyd, Senior Manager Product Line Management, Thermo Fisher Scientific

Part 2: Orbitrap Exploris Isotope Solutions

The launch of Thermo Scientific Orbitrap Exploris Isotope Solutions provided a powerful workflow to start exploring intramolecular isotopic information in a variety of applications. Join us to learn more about the latest developments in the field of polyisotopocules:

1. Progress on methodology for On-line chromatographic separation of liquid samples and direct stable isotope analysis using ESI-Orbitrap MS,

2. Comprehensive isotope ratio analysis of glutamic acid that includes simultaneous measurement of δ15N, δ13C, δ2H, δ18O, δ13C13C and δ15N13C by a single analysis. Additionally, we present methodology for fragmentation of the molecular ion of glutamic acid into its immonium ion, allowing position specific isotope ratio determination of 13C/12C in the C1-position.

Speaker: Nils Kuhlbusch, R&D Scientist, Thermo Fisher Scientific

New technology at our booth

Orbitrap Exploris Isotope Solutions

Intramolecular isotopic information is important as it can provide a better understanding of the processes of molecule formation and provide new geochemical proxies for understanding the world around us. The powerful new workflow harnesses Thermo Scientific Orbitrap high-resolution accurate mass (HRAM) sensitivity and precision to significantly broaden the applications of isotope ratio analysis.

Multicollector ICP-MS

Multicollector ICP-MS

Perform routine isotope analysis or explore novel isotopes in unknown materials using the Thermo Scientific Neoma multicollector ICP-MS (MC-ICP-MS). This ICP-MS system builds on our multicollector technology to deliver all the advantages of high-precision isotope ratio analysis, with none of the limitations. It includes state-of-the art software and hardware, features flexible and sensitive detector technology, a sensitive ion source and excellent mass resolving power, enabling challenging isotope analyses.

Isotope Ratio Mass Spectrometer

Isotope Ratio Mass Spectrometer

The Thermo Scientific DELTA Q Isotope Ratio Mass Spectrometer (IRMS) represents the next evolutionary leap forwards in isotope analysis, combining unprecedented performance with an easy-to-use innovative Thermo Scientific Qtegra Intelligent Scientific Data Solution (ISDS) Software. The DELTA Q IRMS is designed to be seamlessly connected with a wide range of Thermo Scientific peripherals, aimed at supporting varying investigations including food authenticity, criminal and environmental forensics, doping control, and scientific research.
