The new Thermo Scientific™ NGS Food Authenticity Workflow enables screening of foods and ingredients samples for multiple meat, fish and plant species in a single analysis.
Scientists at Nestlé Research evaluated the use of the Thermo Scientific NGS workflow to test for meat, fish and spices/herbs species detection and identification at a variety of different spike levels and combinations of species in multiple food samples.
The NGS workflow successfully detected and identified all species present, at a level of 5% or greater and at levels as low as 1% in over 80% of the samples tested.
