Keep your KingFisher PlasmidPro Maxi Processor functioning with the latest improvements by downloading the newest software.

Below is a guide to updating the KingFisher PlasmidPro software via the GUI. The PlasmidPro software may include OS + firmware, or firmware only; we refer to both as a “software update.” 

• USB-A flash drive
• Software update files downloaded to the USB-A flash drive
• The USB-A drive should be FAT-32 format with less than 20GB of storage

1. Download the update files and place them at the root of the USB stick (not within a folder).

2. Insert the USB stick into the KingFisher PlasmidPro Maxi Processor front or back USB port.

3. From the KingFisher PlasmidPro Maxi Processor home screen, select the Tool icon > Software update > Update software.

4. After a few seconds, the system will recognize the software update package and display a “Warning” message. Select “Update.

5. The system will update and restart.



Note: In the case of OS updates, you may notice the screen is unresponsive for 10 seconds after selecting “Update.” The KingFisher PlasmidPro Maxi Processor instrument will proceed with the update after about 10 seconds. Images of software and files are for illustrative purposes only and may vary.

Problem: I am getting a message that says this software version is invalid.

Guidance: If the PlasmidPro system is running a very old version of software, it will not recognize v1.2.3. Before updating to v1.2.3, make sure the PlasmidPro system is running OS v1.2.0 at minimum. If not, contact your technical support for further assistance.

Problem: When I select “Update Software,” I see the screen that says “Please insert a USB stick with the software you would like to install to begin the software upgrade” but when I insert a USB with the software update, nothing changes on the screen.

Guidance: Your USB stick may not be in the right format. The USB should be FAT-32 format and less than 20 GB of storage.
