Preparation: Produced from sera of rabbits immunized with highly pure Recombinant Human BD-4. Anti-Human BD-4-specific antibody was purified by affinity chromatography employing an immobilized Human BD-4 matrix.
Sandwich ELISA: To detect Human BD-4 by sandwich ELISA (using 100 µL/well antibody solution) a concentration of 0.5-2.0 µg/mL of this antibody is required. This antigen affinity purified antibody, in conjunction with PeproTech Biotinylated Anti-Human BD-4 (500-P268Bt) as a detection antibody, allows the detection of at least 0.2-0.4 ng/well of Recombinant Human BD-4.

Target Information
Defensins form a family of antimicrobial and cytotoxic peptides made by neutrophils. Defensins are short, processed peptide molecules that are classified by structure into three groups: alpha-defensins, beta-defensins and theta-defensins. All beta-defensin genes are densely clustered in four to five syntenic chromosomal regions. Chromosome 8p23 contains at least two copies of the duplicated beta-defensin cluster. This duplication results in two identical copies of defensin, beta 104, DEFB104A and DEFB104B, in head-to-head orientation. This gene, DEFB104A, represents the more centromeric copy.
