PA1-4106 detects adeno-associated virus.
PA1-4106 has been successfully used in Western blot procedures.
The PA1-4106 immunogen is a mix of synthetic peptides corresponding to residues T(75) P W G Y F D F N R F H C(86) of major coat protein VP3 [AAV 2], residues E(278) G G T N L L Q F P H V(289) of capsid protein VP1 [AAV 6], and residues 277-288 of capsid AAV 3.
The parvoviruses are a group of DNA viruses that infect many species. The parvoviruses do not contain sufficient DNA to direct their replication in host cells, and are split into two groups based on their requirements for replication. One of these groups is the adeno-associated viruses (AAVs), which can multiply only in cells which are co-infected with a helper adenovirus. Adeno-associated viruses are not known to be human pathogens.
