CASPR Antibody (MA5-36119) in ICC/IF
Immunocytochemical analysis of CASPR in MG-63 cells using a CASPR monoclonal antibody (Product #MA5-36119). Formalin fixed cells were permeabilized with 0.1% Triton X-100 in TBS for 10 minutes at room temperature and blocked with 1% Blocker BSA for 15 minutes at room temperature. Cells were probed with the primary antibody for 1 hour at room temperature, washed with PBS. Alexa Fluor®488 Goat anti-Mouse IgG was used as the secondary antibody at 1:1,000 dilution. The nuclear counter stain is DAPI.

Target Information
CNTNAP1 was initially identified as a 190-kDa protein associated with the contactin-PTPRZ1 complex. The 1, 384-amino acid protein, also designated p190 or CASPR for 'contactin-associated protein, ' includes an extracellular domain with several putative protein-protein interaction domains, a putative transmembrane domain, and a 74-amino acid cytoplasmic domain. The architecture of its extracellular domain is similar to that of neurexins, and this protein may be the signaling subunit of contactin, enabling recruitment and activation of intracellular signaling pathways in neurons. The gene product was initially identified as a 190-kDa protein associated with the contactin-PTPRZ1 complex. The 1, 381-amino acid protein, also designated p190 or CASPR for 'contactin-associated protein, ' includes an extracellular domain with several putative protein-protein interaction domains, a putative transmembrane domain, and a 74-amino acid cytoplasmic domain. Northern blot analysis showed that the gene is transcribed predominantly in brain as a transcript of 6.2 kb, with weak expression in several other tissues tested. The architecture of its extracellular domain is similar to that of neurexins, and this protein may be the signaling subunit of contactin, enabling recruitment and activation of intracellular signaling pathways in neurons.
