CDC20 Antibody in Immunohistochemistry (IHC) — Detection of human CDC20 by immunohistochemistry. Sample: FFPE section of human prostate carcinoma. Antibody: Affinity purified rabbit anti-CDC20 (Cat. No. A301-180A Lot2) used at a dilution of 1:1,000 (0.2µg/ml). Detection: DAB.

CDC20 Antibody in Western Blot (WB) — Detection of human CDC20 by western blot of immunoprecipitates. Samples: Whole cell lysate (0.5 or 1.0 mg per IP reaction; 20% of IP loaded) from HeLa cells prepared using NETN lysis buffer. Antibodies: Affinity purified rabbit anti-CDC20 antibody A301-180A (lot A301-180A-2) used for IP at 6 µg per reaction. CDC20 was also immunoprecipitated by a previous lot of this antibody (lot A301-180A-1) and rabbit anti-CDC20 antibody A301-179A For blotting immunoprecipitated CDC20, A301-180A was used at 1 µg/ml. Detection: Chemiluminescence with an exposure time of 3 minutes.

Target Information

Required for full ubiquitin ligase activity of the anaphase promoting complex/cyclosome (APC/C) and may confer substrate specificity upon the complex. Is regulated by MAD2L1: in metaphase the MAD2L1-CDC20-APC/C ternary complex is inactive and in anaphase the CDC20-APC/C binary complex is active in degrading substrates. The CDC20-APC/C complex positively regulates the formation of synaptic vesicle clustering at active zone to the presynaptic membrane in postmitotic neurons. CDC20-APC/C-induced degradation of NEUROD2 induces presynaptic differentiation.
