FIGURE: 1 / 1
Store lyophilized/reconstituted at -20°C; once reconstituted make aliquots to avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles. Please, remember to spin tubes briefly prior to opening them to avoid any losses that might occur from lyophilized material adhering to the cap or sides of the tubes.
For reconstitution add 50 µL of sterile water.
Specific Species Reactivity: Arabidopsis thaliana
EIN3 encodes a plant-specific, nuclear-localized transcription factor that functions as a central regulator of ethylene signaling in Arabidopsis thaliana. The protein is a soluble nuclear protein containing a conserved EIN3 DNA-binding domain in its N-terminal region, enabling sequence-specific binding to ethylene-responsive promoter elements and direct activation of primary ethylene response genes, including ERF1, thereby initiating a broader transcriptional cascade that drives ethylene-dependent developmental and stress responses. EIN3 abundance is tightly controlled post-translationally: in the absence of ethylene, EIN3 is ubiquitinated and degraded by the 26S proteasome via SCF-type E3 ligase complexes that include the F-box proteins EBF1 and EBF2; ethylene signaling stabilizes EIN3, allowing it to accumulate in the nucleus and regulate target transcription. Beyond canonical ethylene outputs, EIN3 also integrates into additional hormone and defense programs, including roles in promoting age-dependent leaf senescence through direct transcriptional repression of miR164, and in modulating innate immunity by repressing key salicylic-acid biosynthesis and defense-associated transcriptional outputs.
