Western Blot: To detect Human LIF by Western Blot analysis LIF Polyclonal Antibody, Biotin (Product # 500-P39BT-500UG) can be used at a concentration of 0.1-0.2 µg/mL. When used in conjunction with compatible development reagents the detection limit for Recombinant Human LIF is 1.5-3.0 ng/lane, under either reducing or non-reducing conditions.

Preparation: Produced from sera of rabbits immunized with highly pure Recombinant Human LIF. Anti-Human LIF-specific antibody was purified by affinity chromatography and then biotinylated.
Sandwich ELISA: To detect Human LIF by sandwich ELISA (using 100 µL/well) a concentration of 0.25-1.0 µg/mL of this antibody is required. This biotinylated polyclonal antibody,in conjunction with PeproTech Polyclonal Anti-Human LIF (500-P39) as a capture antibody,allows the detection of at least 0.2-0.4 ng/well of Recombinant Human LIF.
Western Blot: To detect Human LIF by Western Blot analysis this antibody can be used at a concentration of 0.1-0.2 µg/mL. When used in conjunction with compatible development reagents the detection limit for Recombinant Human LIF is 1.5-3.0 ng/lane, under either reducing or non-reducing conditions.

Target Information
Leukemia inhibitory factor (LIF) is a 20 kDa protein that belongs to the IL-6 receptor family. It binds to a heterodimeric membrane receptor made up of a LIF-specific subunit, gp190 or LIFR, and the subunit gp130, which is shared with the other members of the IL-6 family. LIF expression has been observed in various tissues including thymus, lung, and neuronal tissue. LIF can be up-regulated by pro-inflammatory cytokines such as TNFα and IL-17, and elevated levels of LIF have been found in cases of rheumatoid arthritis, neural injury, systemic inflammation, and tuberculosis. LIF displays diverse biological effects, but is best known for its ability to inhibit the differentiation of embryonic stem cells in mice and contribute to stem cell self-renewal.Human and mouse LIF share 79% sequence homology and exhibit cross-species activity. However, LIF inhibition of stem cell differentiation appears to be mouse-specific.
