Acrolein Antibody (MA5-45765) in Flow
Flow Cytometry analysis using human neuroblastoma cells. Fixation involved 90% Methanol. Samples were incubated with Acrolein monoclonal antibody (Product # MA5-45765) at 1:50 for 30 min on ice, followed by Goat Anti-Mouse: PE at 1:100 for 20 min at RT. Isotype Control: Non Specific IgG. Cells were subject to oxidative stress by treating with 250 µM H2O2 for 24 hours.

A 1:1,000 dilution of MA5-45765 was sufficient for detection of Acrolein in 2 µg of Acrolein conjugated to BSA by ECL immunoblot analysis using Goat Anti-Mouse IgG:HRP as the secondary Antibody.|Specific for Acrolein modified proteins. Does not detect free acrolein. Does not cross-react with Crotonaldehyde, Hexanoyl Lysine, 4-Hydroxy-2-hexenal, 4-Hydroxy nonenal, Malondialdehyde, or Methylglyoxal modified proteins.
Target Information
Acrolein is primarily used as an intermediate in the synthesis of acrylic acid and as a biocide. Acrolein may be formed from the breakdown of certain pollutants in outdoor air or from the burning of organic matter including tobacco, or fuels such as gasoline or oil. Acrolein is toxic to humans following inhalation, oral or dermal exposures.
