Difloxacin is a type of fluoroquinolone antibiotic that is used to treat a variety of bacterial infections in animals. It works by inhibiting the bacterial DNA gyrase enzyme, which is responsible for DNA replication and repair. Difloxacin is commonly used to treat respiratory, urinary tract, and skin infections in dogs and cats. It is also effective against certain types of bacteria that can cause diarrhea and other gastrointestinal problems.
