MED1 Antibody in Western Blot (WB) — MED1 antibody (pAb) tested by Western blot. Nuclear extract (30 µg) of HeLa cells probed with MED1 antibody at a dilution of 1:2,000.

MED1 Antibody in Immunoprecipitation (IP) — MED1 antibody (pAb) tested by Immunoprecipitation. 10 µl of MED1 antibody was used to immunoprecipitate MED1 from 250 µg of HeLa nuclear cell extract (lane 2). 10 µl of rabbit IgG was used as a negative control (lane 1). The immunoprecipitated protein was detected by Western blotting using the MED1 antibody at a dilution of 1:2,000.

Target Information

Component of the Mediator complex, a coactivator involved in the regulated transcription of nearly all RNA polymerase II-dependent genes. Mediator functions as a bridge to convey information from gene-specific regulatory proteins to the basal RNA polymerase II transcription machinery. Mediator is recruited to promoters by direct interactions with regulatory proteins and serves as a scaffold for the assembly of a functional preinitiation complex with RNA polymerase II and the general transcription factors.
