Store lyophilized/reconstituted at -20°C; once reconstituted make aliquots to avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles. Please remember to spin the tubes briefly prior to opening them to avoid any losses that might occur from material adhering to the cap or sides of the tube.
For reconstitution add 50 µL of sterile water.
Specific Species Reactivity: Arabidopsis thaliana, Pisum sativum
NDPK, also called nucleoside diphosphate kinase, is a ubiquitous enzyme in plants that maintains balanced pools of nucleoside triphosphates by transferring the gamma phosphate from ATP to nucleoside diphosphates. Beyond its core role in nucleotide homeostasis for DNA and RNA synthesis, NDPK participates in signaling and stress responses, interacting with small GTPases, membranes, and redox regulators to influence growth, development, and defense. Plant NDPK isoforms localize to cytosol, mitochondria, chloroplasts, and nuclei, linking energy status to nucleotide supply and organelle function. Their activity supports replication, repair, transcription, and protein synthesis, and modulates responses to drought, salinity, oxidative stress, and pathogens. Perturbation of NDPK affects metabolic balance, reactive oxygen species management, and developmental programs through changes in nucleotide availability and signaling cross talk.
