Deubiquitinating enzymes (DUBs; see MIM 603478) are proteases that specifically cleave ubiquitin linkages, negating the action of ubiquitin ligases. DUBA2 belongs to a DUB subfamily characterized by an ovarian tumor (OTU) domain.
