PA1-870 detects mSin3A from human and mouse tissues and cells.
PA1-870 has been successfully used in Western blot, ICC/IF ChIP, IHC-P and immunoprecipitation procedures. By Western blot, this antibody detects an ~150 kDa protein representing mSin3A from T47D cell extract.
PA1-870 immunogen is a synthetic peptide corresponding to residues M(1) K R R L D D Q E S D V Y A A Q Q R R(19) of mouse mSin3A. This immunizing peptide (Cat. # PEP-108) is available for use in neutralization and control experiments.
Mammalian Sin3 (mSin3) is a 150 kDa protein closely related to the yeast SIN3 repressor protein involved in the transcriptional repression of many genes. There are two mammalian isoforms, mSin3A and mSin3B. Containing 4 paired amphipathic helix domains (PAH domains), mSin3A and mSin3B have been shown to directly interact with several other transcriptional repressor proteins including HDAC1, HDAC2, RbAp46, the methyl CpG binding protein MeCP2, the Mad/Max heterodimer, and the corepressors silencing mediator of retinoic acid and thyroid hormone receptor (SMRT) and nuclear receptor corepressor (N-CoR).
