Tat-SF1 Antibody in Western Blot (WB) — **Detection of human Tat-SF1 by western blot and immunoprecipitation.** *Samples:* Whole cell lysate from HeLa (5, 15 and 50 µg for WB; 1 mg/ IP, 20% of IP loaded) and 293T (T; 50 µg) cells. *Antibodies:* Affinity purified rabbit anti-Tat-SF1 antibody A302-023A used for WB at 0.4 µg/ml (A) and 1 µg/ml (B) and used for IP at 3 µg/mg lysate. Tat-SF1 was also immunoprecipitated by rabbit anti-Tat-SF1 antibody BL8116, which recognizes an upstream epitope. *Detection:* Chemiluminescence with exposure times of 90 seconds (A and B).

Tat-SF1 Antibody in Immunoprecipitation (IP) — Detection of human Tat-SF1 by western blot of immunoprecipitates. Samples: Whole cell lysate (1.0 mg per IP reaction; 10% of IP loaded) from HeLa cells prepared using NETN lysis buffer. Antibodies: Affinity purified rabbit anti-Tat-SF1 antibody (Product # A302-023A; Lot 2) used for IP at 6 µg per reaction. Tat-SF1 was also immunoprecipitated by a previous lot of this antibody (Product # A302-023A; Lot 1) and a second antibody against a different epitope of Tat-SF1 (BL8116). For blotting immunoprecipitated Tat-SF1, Product # A302-023A was used at 0.1 µg/mL. Detection: Chemiluminescence with an exposure time of 3 seconds.

Target Information

The protein encoded by this gene functions as a cofactor for the stimulation of transcriptional elongation by HIV-1 Tat, which binds to the HIV-1 promoter through Tat-TAR interaction. This protein may also serve as a dual-function factor to couple transcription and splicing and to facilitate their reciprocal activation. Alternatively spliced transcript variants have been found for this gene.
