Western blot analysis of VDAC2/3 in human brain cell lysate in the A) absence and B) presence of immunizing peptide using a VDAC2,3 polyclonal antibody (Product # PA1-41205) at 2 ug/ml. The approximately 55 kD band is not blocked by the immunizing peptide and is believed to result from non-specific cross-reaction.

* Suggested working dilutions are given as a guide only. It is recommended that the user titrate the product for use in their own experiment using appropriate negative and positive controls.
Suggested positive control: human brain cell lysate, antigen standard for VDAC2 (transient overexpression lysate), human brain protein.
Voltage-dependent anion channels (VDAC) are small pore-forming membrane proteins that regulate metabolite exchange across the mitochondrial outer membrane. Apart from metabolite transfer, VDAC role has also been suggested during apoptosis. VDAC2 is one of the isoforms of VDAC. It interacts with BAK and functions as a specific inhibitor of BAK-dependent mitochondrial apoptosis.
