The Thermo Scientific Hydra Bio PFIB brings together field-proven and new techniques to enable both cryo and room temperature work. Cryo Auto Slice & View enables the acquisition of high-resolution 3D data through automated serial milling and imaging, enabling striking new insights into a range of frozen-hydrated specimens. The choice of four different plasma ion species offers advantages for imaging challenging cryo- and resin-embedded samples. The Hydra Bio PFIB also features Spin Mill Bio Method, an exclusive technique for large-area planar milling that yields similar sized imaging areas as microtome slicing. The versatility of the system is further emphasized by the ability to fully support cryo-tomography lamella preparation, cryo-lift-out applications and correlative light and electron microscopy (CLEM) workflows using the iFLM integrated light microscope.
