I have the Thermo Scientific G2 Fast Blotter (Cat. No. 62288). Has this device been discontinued? Can I get the 1-Step Transfer Buffer recommended for fast transfer with the Thermo Scientific G2 Fast Blotter?

Yes. The Thermo Scientific G2 Fast Blotter has been discontinued. The direct replacement for the Thermo Scientific G2 Fast Blotter is the Thermo Scientific Power Blotter (Cat. No. 22834). The 1-Step Transfer buffer (Cat. No. 84731) is still available.

I have the Thermo Scientific G2 Fast Blotter and want to add the fast stain functionality. What should I get?

You can purchase the Thermo Scientific G2 Fast Blotter - Power Stainer Upgrade Kit (Cat. No. 62288). This kit contains the Thermo Scientific Power Stain Cassette and a USB Flash Drive loaded with software that will update the Thermo Scientific G2 Fast Blotter Control Unit software and add the staining functions. We also offer Thermo Scientific Power Staining Kits (Cat. Nos. 22839, 22840).
