          Product Specific Information

Specificity: ABS 050-45-02 binds human ghrelin and des-acyl ghrelin, and showed ~5% cross-Specificity with rat ghrelin in a sandwich ELISA using ABS 052-121 as biotinylated detection antibody.

Reactivity: ABS 050-45-02 binds human ghrelin in solution. ABS 050-45-02 can be used as a capture antibody in a sandwich ELISA using biotinylated detection antibody ABS 052-121-02.

NOTE: Concentration is lot-dependent and can vary from 0.85-1.15 mg/mL

          Target Information

GHRL encodes ghrelin-obestatin preproprotein, which generates ghrelin and obestatin. Ghrelin is an the ligand for the growth hormone secretagogue receptor type 1 and is involved in regulating growth hormone release. Ghrelin has an appeptite-stimulating effect and induces adiposity and stimulates gastric acid secretion. Obestatin may be the ligand for the orphan G protein-coupled receptor GPR39 and is involved in satiety and can have an appetite-reducing effect resulting in decreased food intake.
