HYB 147-06-02 detects the amidated C-terminus of Glucogon-like peptide-1from human samples. This antibody does not detect GLP-1 (7-37).
HYB 147-06-02 has been successfully used in immunohistochemistry and ELISA procedures. HYB 147-06-02 reacts with the amidated C-terminus of GLP-1 (7-36) amide and GLP-1 (1-36) amide. HYB 147-06-02 can be used as capture antibody in sandwich ELISA using HYB 147-12B as detection antibody. Strong reaction is also seen in ELISA with GLP-1 directly coated onto the microtiter well.
HYB 147-06-02 immunogen is glucagon-like peptide-1 (7-36) amide coupled to a carrier.
The epitope of HYB 147-06-02 is the C-terminal region of GLP-1.
NOTE: Concentration is lot-dependent and can vary from 0.85-1.15 mg/mL
Target Information
GCG is also known as GLP1, or Glucagon. Glucagon is a 29-amino acid pancreatic hormone that counteracts the glucose-lowering action of insulin by stimulating glycogenolysis and gluconeogenesis.It is mapped to 2q36-2q37. GLP1, also known as 7-37 for the codons of the preproglucagon molecule which encode it, renders pancreatic beta-cells 'glucose-competent' and may be useful in the treatment of noninsulin-dependent diabetes mellitus. Also, GLP1 is a potent insulin secretagogue.It plays a major role in the enteroinsular axis, accounting, for example, for the finding that plasma insulin levels accompanying oral intake of glucose are greater than those observed when glucose is given intravenously.
