Description

The Growth Hormone Rat ELISA Kit is designed to detect and quantify rat growth hormone in serum, plasma, buffered solution and tissue culture medium. Growth hormone (GH) has diverse effects on cell growth, differentiation, and metabolism. The kit cross-reacts with mouse.

Easy to run
Rapid 4-hour Protocol
Pre-coated, Removable 8-Well Strips

Sensitive and Easy-to-Run Sandwich ELISA
The kit is a solid phase sandwich Enzyme Linked Immuno Sorbent Assay (ELISA). A monoclonal antibody specific for Rat GH has been coated onto the wells of the microtiter strips provided. During the first incubation, standards of known Rat GH content, controls, and unknown samples are pipetted into the wells. After washing, biotinylated secondary antibody is added. After washing, Streptavidin Peroxidase (enzyme) is added. This binds to the biotinylated antibody to complete the four member sandwich. After a third incubation and washing to remove all the unbound enzyme, a substrate solution is added, which is acted upon by the bound enzyme to produce color. The intensity of this colored product is directly proportional to the concentration of Rat GH present in the original specimen.

The Growth Hormone Rat ELISA Human Kit (96 tests) contains these reagents, buffers, and supplies:

• Rt Growth Hormone Standard, 2 lyophilized vials
• Standard Diluent Buffer, 1 × 25 mL
• Rt Growth Hormone High and Low Controls, 1 lyophilized vial each
• Rt Growth Hormone Antibody Coated Wells, 1 × 96 well plate
• Rt Growth Hormone Biotin Conjugate, 1 × 11 mL
• Streptavidin-HRP (100x), 1 × 0.125 mL
• HRP Diluent, 1 × 25 mL
• Wash Buffer Concentrate (25X), 1 × 100 mL
• Stabilized Chromogen, TMB, 1 × 25 mL
• Stop Solution, 1 × 25 mL
• Plate Covers, 3
• Detailed protocol, 1 protocol

Fast 4-hour Protocol
The kit comes with the capture antibody pre-coated to the plate, eliminating the need for you to coat the plate. The total incubation time is 4 hours with 3 wash steps.

Convenient Kit Format–Run as few samples as you want
The pre-coated wells come as removable 8-well strips allowing you to tailor the assay size to your needs. Two standard vials are provided to give you the option of reconstituting a new vial should you decide to not run the entire plate at a time.

Rigorous Validation
Each InvitrogenTM ELISA kit is validated for sensitivity, specificity, and lot-to-lot consistency. The assay has also been tested for protein recovery in serum, plasma, and supernatant matrices (Figure 2). Random serum and plasma samples, as well as four samples for rats at various stages of pregnancy were evaluated for the presence of rat growth hormone in this assay (Figure 3). See protocol insert for more information on validation.
