This antibody does not cross-react with Mycobacterium tuberculosis, Mycobacterium phlei, Corynebacterium bovis, or Mycoplasma bovis.
Mouse anti Mycobacterium avium, clone 2A4, recognizes Mycobacterium avium. It does not react with Mycobacterium tuberculosis, Mycobacterium phlei, Corynebacterium bovis or Mycoplasma bovis.
Mycobacteria are straight or slightly curved, non motile rods that cause TB. Mycobacteria avium causes TB in birds and a pulmonary infection of humans. It can also be transmitted to immunocompromised humans such as AIDS patients where it can cause disseminated Mycobacterium avium complex (MAC).
