GLI1 Antibody (MA5-26638) in IHC (P)
Immunohistochemistry was performed on paraffin-embedded human embryonic brain cortex tissue. To expose target proteins, 1 mM EDTA in 10mM Tris, pH8.5, 120°C for 3min was used. Following antigen retrieval, tissues were probed with a GLI1 monoclonal antibody (Product # MA5-26638).

Detects recombinant overexpressed human GLI1, but unfortunately fails to detect the endogenous protein.
Target Information
This gene encodes a member of the Kruppel family of zinc finger proteins. The encoded transcription factor is activated by the sonic hedgehog signal transduction cascade and regulates stem cell proliferation. The activity and nuclear localization of this protein is negatively regulated by p53 in an inhibitory loop. Multiple transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene.
