Western blot analysis of SEC61alpha in extracts of various cell lines. Samples were incubated with SEC61alpha Monoclonal antibody (Product # MA5-38005) using a dilution of 1:1,000, followed by HRP Goat Anti-Rabbit IgG (H+L) at a dilution of 1:10,000. Lysates/proteins: 25 µg per lane. Blocking buffer: 3% nonfat dry milk in TBST. Detection: ECL Basic Kit. Exposure time: 1s.

The SEC61 complex is a major component of the endoplasmic reticulum (ER) translocation site. This complex is composed of three subunits: SEC61alpha, SEC61beta and SEC61gamma. SEC61alpha is a polytopic integral membrane protein. It is a core component of the ER translocation complex, playing a crucial role in the insertion of secretory and membrane polypeptides into the ER.
